red dot design museum [Image Heavy]

I like the minimalist looking name on the front set on a loud fire-hydrant bright red color.
A group of artists drawing portraits of a couple. Good practice for the artists they say.
Would you like to be taken away on a soft feathery magic carpet? An installation of perforated plastic sheet spanning across the ceiling diffuses the spotlights. Soft and dreamy.

Tupperware installation art.

A cute stall in the museum.
Got to know about this exhibition through a friend who is involved with Gifted Artists Studio.
They exhibited the artworks done by their young students.
Oh a world of blocky headed people riding odd creatures would just be lovely.

*Updated my playlist to Soap Kills. The singer Yasmine Hamdan is now better known as Y.A.S.

The music is a total impediment to my productivity level.
So 'menghayalkan' but i can't stop listening to their chillout trip hop beats.
I'm addicted.

Peeking at you =)

Visited the Singapore Art Museum today and saw the "Thrice Upon a Time: A Century of Story in the Art of the Philippines", "In the Eye of Modernity: Philippine Neo-Realist Masterworks from the Ateneo Art Gallery" exhibits and also some contemporary Asian artworks at 8Q. Took a lot of pics and will share some of them here. There was this portrait that I totally fell in love with.

Gonna read up on Philippine history tomorrow I guess... Kinda late now and i gotta get some snooze.... -.-

Another Cycle

Singapore Flyer
Singapore Flyer, originally uploaded by Arty Bug.

The long weekend was spent taking photos of the national day fireworks, trying out shaped bokehs (which turned out interesting enough!) and filming some of it.

Hope to squeeze in some time to post up the fireworks pics/vids I took cos I expect myself to be busy with school.

I've just moved into a new hall and is starting school... again~ Room furniture are new in purple matches my bedsheets-will take pics when i'm done unpacking. And the building is still undergoing renovations which will hopefully be completed soon. So currently my block doesn't have a pantry yet.

Nevertheless, seems like a nice place to live. My new roomie is nice too =)

I feel so lucky.

And another discovery of a great place to buy resources in Malaysia- Nilai 3 the wholesale place. For wedding gifts (hantaran), furnitures even in the marie antoinette style, chandeliers, carpets, grandfather clocks, etc.

The con: 3 hr ride from Singapore if traffic is good to ya. But it's worth the trip if you're buying lots of home decor.

*My dream home will have all white/ creamy pastel coloured walls and furniture with a few color accents from folk art detailing and flowers. <3*

The river was literally aquamarine... beautiful. Thus exploring the place was simply a natural instinct and I was filled with curiosity with this little eden-like housing estate around the river.

I could only imagine how it looks like in the sunset.

Wani if you're reading this, yes it was the day i visited your home last week =)

And also to those who read my entries, even though my blog is like a secluded little space, I do appreciate every sweet comment and visits. Thks!

There was probably a wedding which just ended.

Strength in Struggle

Camera Model Canon EOS 500D
Shooting Date/Time 06/25/09 17:03:32
Shooting Mode Macro( Close Up )
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/200
Av( Aperture Value ) 11.0
ISO Speed 400
Lens EF50mm f/1.8 II

For every beauty, there are imperfections... many things that i can't help to change but i try to remind myself that there is probably a reason for it being so.

I found the following to be very inspiring and uplifting and makes me view struggles and problems a new perspective:

"A man found a cocoon for a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole.

Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and could go no farther. Then the man decided to help the butterfly.

He took a pair of scissors and snipped the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily.

Something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and deformed wings. It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand, was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the small opening of the cocoon are God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life.

If God allowed us to go through all our life without any obstacles, that would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

Not only that, we could never fly."

Everything comes from God- good things and bad things as well be it problems, flaws, misfortunes, etc. So i try to diminish the feeling of hate for anything... Hating something God created is like hating God himself.

It's just like loving a person: love not only his good side but his flaws as well cos that's what makes him who he is.

Lovely DeArt Shop

Went to Causeway Point earlier this evening and saw a lovely shop filled with Victorian styled furniture, clocks, purses, teacup sets, etc- all eye candies!

Photos credit to ~✽ Yen ♪ ✽~

I've been to my bf's friend's house which was fully decorated with such stuff, even the antique dial phones, clock, white cage and even their cutlery matches the theme.

Pretty pretty quaint house decorated by his mom who is a designer- so i guess it's no wonder it everything looks well put together.

It was a really interesting home to have visited for Hari Raya which stands out because it simply looks unique and has a strikingly strong theme just like this shop.

Anyway, I've bought some fabrics and stuff today so I'll be working on some projects of my own.

If it does turn out successful, I'll update it here =)

Night Cycling Photos

Photos taken by Ben and Jerome who brought along their DSLRs.

Went night cycling from 9.30 pm to 5 am.

A rough total of about 7 hours plus:

Started from East Coast Park, riding through Marine Parade for shaved ice dessert at Koi, Bugis (Haji Lane), prata place near Vivo for supper, Dempsey Hill, Orchard, Buat Quay and back to East Coast Park.

I lost 1 kg after waking up the next day =) and my butt is still sore.

Anyway, I just bought a new Canon EOS 500D digital camera.

One of the best cams in the market right now from the reviews, superb specs and personal experience.

Will post up awesome pics soon.
